South African artist WXVEGRAPHICA reimagines New York City through a distant lens — one shaped by late-night TV, music videos, and the vivid pulse of pop culture. Though he’s never stepped foot in the city, his design captures what NYC feels like: iconic, chaotic, and electric.

Layered over a vintage map of New York State, the distressed Statue of Liberty’s head and bold graffiti-style “NEW YORK” lettering is scrawled across the front, unapologetically raw and urgent, like the city’s energy seen on screen from half a world away.

It’s a reflection of the New York we all think we know before we ever arrive.
